  1. Place tomatillos, onion, garlic, and chili pepper into a saucepan. Season with herbs and spices and add 2 cups water.
  2. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer until the tomatillos are soft. This will take about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Blend the softened mixture with an immersion blender until the desired level of smoothness is reached.
